New Online FCA Handbook Website

FCA Announces Launch of New Online Handbook for Firms

26th August 2015

The Financial Conduct Authority has announced it will be launching a new Handbook website this weekend on 29th August 2015 aimed at making it easier for firms to use and navigate the Handbook.

As the FCA informs:

“The Handbook is at the heart of how we regulate. We know how important it is for firms so we have designed a new Handbook website based on your feedback.”

FCA 24th August 2015

Expected to go live this Saturday, just before the Bank Holiday, the new Handbook is set to have a cleaner layout for easier navigation along with a timeline, so that is is clearer and easier to see when the rules have changed.

In addition, there will be an option to add ‘favourites’ when viewing the new Handbook so that you can build up your own tailored Handbook.

Furthermore, glossary definitions are set to display in pop-up windows on the page you are viewing, rather opening completely separate pages as defined glossary terms currently do and the search function will be improved upon the present one.

In line with the launch, the re-developed Handbook will be housed on a different website address.

No doubt there will be teething problems, as there always are with these kind of updates, however a remodel of the online Handbook has been long overdue and, as long-time users of the Handbook, we have to say we’re looking forward to some of the long-standing niggles being addressed!
