SM&CR Directory Persons Submission Deadlines

The FCA is now accepting submissions for a Firm’s Directory Persons as required under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR).
The new Directory will list the details of key people working within Financial Services and aims to enable customers to help verify the identity of those selling or providing advice on financial products so that they can help protect themselves from scams.
In addition the Directory will make it easier for firms to cross-check references and make their wider staff known to customers, as well as make it more difficult for ‘unsuitable’ persons to operate within the UK financial services market.
Deadlines for firms submitting information for the Directory have been announced as follows:
Banks, building societies, credit unions and insurance companies must submit their data between 9 September 2019 and 9 March 2020.
All other firms must submit their data within one year of the implementation date for SM&CR, implementation date being 9th December 2019 and the deadline being 9th December 2020.

Data for Directory Persons should be submitted online via the FCA’s Connect system using the new Directory Persons Connect Form. Submissions can either be made singly or using a multiple entry template.
